Very fun night in Austin. Sleight of hand was extremely impressive! The theater should have some music playing during the show!!
Pros: Show and tour was great. Lady at the front was really nice and welcoming. The magician was a cool guy, good sense of humor, good at engaging the audience. I have no problems with the show itself. Con: The room was really hot. Even sitting close to the tiny AC at the top, it was unbearable the longer the show went on. The show went a little over the runtime, about 20 minutes, which I'm not going to complain about getting more for my money. But it just added to the uncomfortability due to the heat. If that issue were to get sorted out I'd have nothing to complain about. As I said, everything else was great.

Have never been to a magic show before, but took a chance and this place did not disappoint! Very engaging and interactive show that has me amazed from start to finish. I appreciated the show size that gave it a more personal feel and the museum has so much to look at/learn about. If you’re looking for something fun/different to do in Austin I highly recommend, perfect for a date night or an outing with friends
Came for a private show for my birthday and it was the best time! We really enjoyed looking around the museum, talking to John about his super interesting life and career and then the show itself was incredible. My friends and I were blown away! Highly recommend.
An excellent show that is close and personal. The museum has some really nice pieces. We will definitely come back.
This was a great experience! John and his wife were great!! He received our call and accepted us the same day for the private show. She was very friendly and enthusiastic when talking about magicians/illusionists through history. His show was excellent. Very engaging, entertaining and fun. He is expanding his facilities and am willing to go back at some point if it includes new things. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has an interest in magic/illusions.
Thank you so much Mrs Ruth and John! The experience was so amazing! John you are awesome! My husband and I really enjoyed the close up show. I loved hearing about all your magician history and the really cool experiences you have had as well, but that magic that you do was absolutely AHMAZING! If your reading this review GO SEE HIM HE IS GREAT!
Wonderful show for the entire family! I have been twice to this theatre now- both the Saturday show as well as the private show and found them to be exciting! Don’t let the building intimidate you! Although it doesn’t look like your typical theatre from the outside you will be pleasantly surprised when you enter. Parking is easy, plenty of spaces in the lot. Get there a few minutes early so you can look around the musuem- I was surprised by the amount of magic related posters, photos and artifacts! This is a unique experience and venue. I’d recommend!

April 7, 2024Quirky combination of a magic museum with magic artifacts, and a small theater that seats 40. Provides for an intimate, close up experience to observe slight of hand tricks, some performed with facsimiles of historic magic trick paraphernalia. Patter designed to distract is idiosyncratic in that the magician likes to talk about how much each artifact and magic trick cost him, his relationships with famous people in his past and occasionally dips onto some personal religious beliefs. Some of this is interesting to the audience. Some of this is self aggrandizing and some is off putting. The magic itself is fun and well executed, traditional magic tricks. Overall, it's a"keep Austin weird" experience.
