Honest review from a long-term Austinite: absolutely well worth it in my opinion. The closeup magic is very good. Not the absolute best I have seen (I have seen LOTS), but VERY well done and more than worth the price of admission. When they say close-up, you will be closer than in any other show or venue I have seen; he picks two people to sit at the table right in front of him, and directly behind that are a few rows of tightly packed stadium style chairs (all seats are close and have a great view). I sat on the front row and was 4 to 5 feet from John, so I could see every single move much better than any show I have attended before. Family members who have not seen as much magic as I have were totally blown away with every single trick. But the best part is that the experience is very personal and 100% enjoyable, almost like you are sitting down with a group of old friends and just enjoying listening to stories on top of the magic. The museum has more to it than I thought it would, and John Magic's wife is as friendly as they come and has lots of stories to share as well. It is a rare "great experience" that you just don't find anymore. The magic alone is a solid A, and experience and overall recommendation a true A+.
Magic’s was incredible! I came for my 29th birthday with some friends and he put on an incredible show. His stories are just as interesting as his tricks. He was so welcoming and we all had a great time. I will be recommending this to all of my friends!
Great show and enjoyed the museum! John’s show is engaging, funny and insightful. The show is up close and personal which makes it even better. Best magic show I’ve been to, highly recommend! Will be back for sure.
Mr. Magic was the best, coolest, funniest, and insightful magician i’ve ever met! He put on the best magic i’ve ever seen. His shows are a mix of funny, jaw dropping, and insightful into the history of magic. 10/10 recommend!!
My husband and I had an amazing time here! It wasn't what I was hoping for, but it was a good show. It's definitely worth the trip and experience.
The show the museum is amazing. Mr. Magic and his wife are down to earth. The Magic's Theater and Museum is something you must go to take family and friends. It's a experience that will keep you thinking and talking about it.
This experience was awesome! Intimate, close-up, and personal with a magician that has made a lifetime career in magic! John Magic was personable and very intimate with the storytelling and magic tricks! He took us on an historical journey into the magic world! To say the least his tricks were mind blowing and unbelievable! Me and my fiancé had a great time for her birthday. She really enjoyed it and if you’re looking for a special place in town to take someone special, this is the perfect intimate spot.
I'm not sure weird cab describe the experience. Mr. Magic and his staff put on an incredible event. The museum is week themed and flows easily. Many pieces and accompanying information. The magic show setting is small and intimate. Your not going to pick his illusions apart so don't even try. Stories and events from his experiences and life are driven into the show. I recommend this for a unique and pleasant date night
Amazing. This show is well worth everything. John magic makes me believe in magic. He is professional master of his trade. And I feel like I learned so much. Keep blowing my mind. Highly recommend. Better than a Vegas style, intimate and mind blowing.

A hidden gem. There is a museum filled with personal memorabilia including John's love of the history of magic and his time working in the film industry. The show was in an intimate theater (30 seats, I think) and featured card tricks, rope tricks, coin tricks, and entertaining banter. Well worth the time!!
