I've taken visiting friends and family on this adventure many times and every one of them had a great time and got some good history etc about Austin. The brief Lake Austin cruise was awesome. If you get a knowledgeable and funny tour driver, which we always have, you've just scored. It's affordable too.
I really enjoy this tour! Is very nice, funny, fresh, and your learn a lot about the city… this is a must that you should do when you come to visit Austin. As soon as you arrive you need to check on the store first. The parking lot is next to the Austin visitor center… the tour is around an hour, the funny part is you go to the water and float… I really love it
We had an amazing time! The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Downtown Austin area (although he lives in CA
Tour started promptly so arrive on time! The bus boat is open air and TX is HOT! So you may want to hydrate well and wear cool clothing. The tour last about an hour and takes you to some main spots throughout Austin and onto the lake. I live here but have done it twice with two different groups of friends/family and I still learned something unique each time. Capt. Mike was our host and he was very cautious towards the safety of the vessel. Wonderful sense of humor. Restrooms are not available on board, so I recommend using the Visitor center facilities prior or after the tour. Definitely the best option to get a quick view of the city.
The Austin Duck Tour is our go-to when we have visitors. As Austunites, we are proud to show off our city, and the duck tour is one of the best ways to do it! Captain Bob is a phenomenal tour guide. Incredibly informative and engaging! Everyone had a great time, and enjoyed Captain Bob's humor:-)
We went in a couple of AO tours. This was our favorite. It was fun and informative. We loved quacking and waving at passersby. Captain Bob made the trip as entertaining as it was. He had a great sense of humor and very clearly enjoyed giving us the tour.
My son and I enjoyed this experience. I recommend this to anyone, but only for the first tour of the day at 10am, because it is open-air so it gets too hot later. Wear sunscreen. Aisle seats are better if you don’t want to sit in the sun for half the tour.
We had a great time on our tour and the driver was funny and entertaining. It was a great way to learn about some of the city history and a great way to see the Capital without driving ourselves. Will definitely bring the kids back and take them on a Duck Tour!!
If your going with the family, got kiddos. This is a great adventure. We took the 11 am tour and parking was easily found in front of the office. You pay throught the parking machine. The guide was funny and had many interesting historical facts during the drive. The best part is when we drove into Lake Austin. The guide had fun music to enjoy during our tour of the lake. My kids loved it. It is a 75 min tour and the do not do stops along the way.

My friends and I had a wonderful time! We came a couple of minutes late and the guide still accommodated us! Thanks for that! The only reason I gave this tour a 4/5 vs 5/5 is because I personally felt in the water it would’ve been nice going at a higher speed! Otherwise, what a beautiful time!
