It was a awesome experience. We went there for the 7.30pm bat watching tour. Captain Tobby was very experienced and explained alot of things we didn't know. He was very humerus too. He did an awesome job maneuvering the boat trying get us to see the best views of the bats flying out and the sunset. It was a great experience and we would definitely do it again. Highly recommend this activity if you are in Austin. Recommend reservation of tickets online because they do sell out fast.
five stars for Matt and Han. great service, great tour, and a nice sunburn as a souvenir :-D the views are excellent! wear sunscreen if you sit up top and please, for the love of god, tip these guys and laugh at their jokes. you gotta respect the hustle, folks. thanks for a great tour ($13 CASH), team!!
Excellent experience! Our captain was quirky and great. She had the right amount of good jokes, Dad jokes and history! Great way to bookend my Austin experience. Watched the bats from the hill beside the bridge about a year after I arrived and now the week before I move away got to see them from the boat!
Monday evening riverboat tour on Lake Lady Bird to see the bats as they head out for dinner. Reserved tickets online about 2 days in advance. Seats sell out fast. They have one large paddle boat with air conditioning on the bottom and open air on top. Also have 3 open pontoon boats. First come first served for seating. A line formed prior to boarding so you may want to arrive 15 minutes early for prime seating, no reserved seats. Great view of the bats and nice tour of the lake and the local landmarks that line the shore. Our guide was knowledgeable and almost funny!. Our tour lasted about an hour. Great outing for the price.
Took the moonlight cruise which starts at 10:30 pm but starts boarding at 9:30 PM. If you want epic, 2nd floor, open air seating (which you will), please arrive earlier. My family and I were able to snag up a few plastic sit down chairs on the open air deck but we hardly made it to finding any. The 1st floor is enclosed with windows but the windows must stay closed for the AC. The crew was nice and they played GREAT music on the night cruise. The views of Austin at night were epic.

We went at noon, in the middle of the summer, with a baby in a stroller. Went great, very family friendly. The lower deck has room to roll a stroller on but there is no way to get that stroller on the upper deck. I will say we felt comfortable enough to leave our bag and stroller in the cabin and go up the steps to the top with baby in hand. Honestly the upper deck would have been a great hang out spot the entire time if we had an umbrella. That's my only regret.
My husband and I went on a tour 6/18/22 and the Captain of our was very knowledgeable, funny, and had interesting facts about the area! We did the Bat Tour and actually got to see the bats come out. It was so many of them, but the way they came out, was a sight to see. I would recommend it to anyone!
We went on this cruise to see Austin and the 1.5 million strong bat colony under Congress Bridge. It was beautiful, exciting, and fun. The tour guides were knowledgable and made the trip entertaining. The city was beautiful at night and the water calming. Tickets were not too expensive to reserve ($13 a person for adults), and parking was free. It was a very unique experience.

Not lone star riverboats fault but the bats were a disappointment. I understand it is nature and wild animals but I was expecting to see a sky filled with bats. Maybe they should start a half hour later so you are out there longer. The cruise was nice peaceful and the captain was nice. The lake is full of garbage unfortunately. Next time tomorrow night I will take my chances from the shore
