Outstanding experience! Our host was knowledgeable, friendly, humorous, and made this excursion worth every penny. This is way may than a bat watching moment, it’s an Austin event that you don’t want to miss. Just sayin!
Loved the experience! We took 2 young kiddos with us, and it worked out great. Being on the water was so fun, we were lucky enough to see bats, which was absolutely amazing, and Captain Zach was a great guide. We would absolutely do it again, and we’d recommend it to family and friends when visiting Austin.
Very reasonable price. Our tour guide did amazing talking about the history of the lake and the surrounding areas. We did the bat tour on the boat, it was amazing unfortunately though we did not get to see any bats. All photos included is the view from the lake.
Great experience on the bat tour! The tour guide Zach was informative and humourous. They were up front that birthing season has less bat activity, but we still saw and heard quite a few! Great way to spend a warm evening.
Although the bats didn’t come out this particular night in May, it was a lovely evening on the river with an excellent tour guide, we learned so much! Highly recommend this activity anytime!
Captain Gabe did an outstanding job on narrating the cruise, pointing out historical land marks and building along the cruise. I could really tell he carried about what he was talking about. Great experience and would highly recommend.
The cruise was great. Very windy but beautiful skyline pic. Unfortunately, no bats were seen! But, maybe we would have if our boat could have stayed till 9pm. I guess we were out of gas....?
The cruise was great. Very windy but beautiful skyline pic. Infirmary no bats seen!
Great trip, great value. Captain Zack was affable, knowledgeable, and just as interested in seeing the bats as we were. Calm ride up and down the river. I get seasick easily and i had no problem that night. Easy check in, the hotel there is generously accommodating with their bathrooms, we left on time and arrived back on time. Bring a hat to protect from bat guano and wear bug spray on your face to avoid gnats. The bats haven’t eaten them all yet! Binoculars help as does putting iphone 15 on video and watching through the screen.

I really enjoyed this experience. We had lovely weather and a stunning sunset. It's more of a nice boat ride than bat viewing, since they come out at a specific time and the show doesn't last that long. I say as long as the weather isn't terrible, it's worth doing. The price is also very reasonable. I couldn't hear too much of the information from the captain because the cruisers were pretty chatty (myself included), but what I did hear was very interesting and well-presented.
