A friend booked the bat tour for me when I came to Austin to see her. This was a lot of fun even though we only got to see the scout bats. Unfortunately the winds were strong enough to keep the bats from heading out to feed that night. Even though we didn't get to see the bats the tour was still worth taking. Out guide was funny and knowledgeable about the buildings architecture along the lake. Was a nice way to learn a bit about the city of Austin.
Best place to view the sunset over the bridges and water in Austin. Did the ride two nights ago. Captain Alec was knowledgeable about the bats and the park along the river. We got to see the army of flying bats! Great experience!
The bat cruise was so easy and fun!! We went really early in the year, so not full colony but wonderful sight as the bats came streaming out! Benefit was it was not as crowded on and near the river. But we also really enjoyed just cruising down and seeing the downtown and park areas from the river … and the sunset was amazing! Definitely get there full 1/2 hour early to get a good seat. Chairs are pretty crowded together, so probably make arrangements ahead for any extra space or accessibility issues.
We left right on time. Captain Leia gave us really fun facts about the sights as we cruised a bit before sunset. And then our boat was in a great spot to see the bats as they came out from the Congress St bridge! We'll definitely go again, and recommend this to family and friends.
Michael was extremely kind to us tonight and a petite female with dark hair (Leila?) also offered us excellent customer service. Thank you both. We enjoyed the bats very much. A friend visiting from Washington was thrilled. Proud to share Austin with her and good people!!
We had a nice evening float around the lake. Great to see the city from the water and see the lights. Not a lot of bats in residence right now in March. According to the boat captain, they are usually in full force in July. Price was right and we would recommend if you are from out of town and want the water/bat experience.
I had a great ride with Mike. It was calm, peaceful and laid back. Definitely the best vibe I’ve ever had. This was my first time doing this also and he made me feel like i was a pro. It was very relaxing and much needed. Mike, i hope you see this. This is the guy that had the orange sweatpants on
walked up and rented the swan boat. it was beautiful dry clean. we had a lot of fun. had 2 life jackets on the boat. easy to peddle and direct with the steering knob. we had a great time lots of fun. would definitely recommend
I rented a boat for a 2-hour event. My contact was at Capital Cruises was Tony and he did a phenomenal job coordinating the event. Not only was he responsive, but he also answered my many questions each email. I also hired a bartender in my event package and she was great! The boat captain was wonderful as well. The boat was clean and everyone was incredibly helpful as I set up the beverages. They both cleaned everything up and organized all of my items for me. The party got rave reviews and I would highly recommend Capital Cruises for your event needs!!

The tour was very enjoyable and much more informative than I was expecting. The tour guide (I think his name was Gabe) was a wealth of information, not only about bats but Austin history, plant life and music. He also has a great playlist of local musicians. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
