Great kayak tour of the bats taking off in the evening. Dan, our guide, was very funny and very knowledgeable about bat and Austin trivia. From start to finish they took great care of all of us and made the experience really clear and enjoyable I highly recommend it. The view of the city skyline and the bridges from the water is beautiful.
The evening bar tour was the highlight of our date night to Austin. I as looking for a summer fun idea without being fried in the heat, and this was it. Dan the man and Ryan were great guides who provided a ton of insight pertaining to the history of the bats but also small tidbits about Austin. Highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys being on the water and seeing the circle of life!
Our tour guide, Dan, was fantastic. He taught us more about bats than we ever cared to know, but are happy we know now. I’ve since read all my mascara ingredients to see if they have guano in them. The water was lovely, seeing the bats was great but we really enjoyed the tour. Even if you have seen the bats, you should take the tour with this place.
Amazing, it was my first time kayaking with my group. Guides are very kind and patient. They have lockers for things that can be ruin by water. I recommend going in swimming clothes. We parked in the parking garage that was free. We did the bat tour and it accomplished what we went for.
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our experiences here were phenomenal. We rented by the hour on Saturday and came right back for the Bat Tour on Sunday night. Our guide Dan was awesome and made the tour so interesting, comical, and overall extremely enjoyable. Everyone who worked there was so cool and friendly. The parking garage was free, close to the store front, and felt safe. They had lockers for our stuff and we had no issues whatsoever with leaving it there. If we ever get to come back to Austin, we will absolutely rent from Live, Love, Paddle again! Loved it so much.
The tour guide was amazing and the experience was even better. The tandem kayaks are a great way to get to know each other, and the view of the city at sunset was unforgettable. To finish off the night, the tour guide even had a whole list of recommendations for dinner! Also, a tip for those who want to photograph the experience, remember to bring a plastic bag to keep your phone in to prevent it from getting wet.
All the hype about this place is true!! Dan was amazing and the bats delivered! Even without their amazing nighttime show the tour was awesome, the kayak shop was great - super friendly staff, made a solo traveler totally at ease and created a great environment for everyone on the tour! 5stars, highly recommend, go see bats & have Dan tell you stories!
Took the Urban day tour. Guide checked us in and got everything organized quickly. Dock workers got everyone in the kayaks and on the water quickly. Guide was fun and attentive, kept up with everyone and helped when needed. Very informative tour of downtown, Lady Bird lake and congress Bridge. Boats were clean. Great time will be doing the bat tour soon.
Very cool experience. We rented a canoe and had a fantastic time canoeing on the lake. The staff was really nice and helpful. I think $25/hr is a bit steep, especially for renting a canoe. And I would've preferred not to have had my ID and credit card left behind as "collateral." Maybe another system could work better. Overall, had a great time. Free parking in the garage nearby was convenient. A short walk from the rental place to the dock and a friendly, helpful staff.

Great experience! The tour was super informative and the guide (Dan I think?) was awesome. They give a brief kayak lesson before sending you off to the bridge. I knew nothing about the bats here in Austin before the tour yesterday and learned a lot! Very cool to see them from the kayaks. Would recommend this tour. Worth the $55 per person. On the water for about 2-2.5 hours.
