Amazing - an incredibly experience. The bat tour was really good. After paddling with the kajak, we saw een amazing view over the city. The large group of bats (1,5 miljoen) flew right over the river in and kajaks. It gave an amazing spectacle. The guidance and explanation from our guide was really good; Thank you David!
I had an amazing experience with Live Love Paddle on their kayak bat tour! The guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole evening fun and relaxing. Paddling out on Lady Bird Lake at sunset was absolutely beautiful, and watching the bats emerge from the Congress Avenue Bridge was unforgettable. The team made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable, whether you were new to kayaking or experienced. This tour is such a unique Austin experience and a perfect way to enjoy the outdoors, take in the skyline, and see something truly one-of-a-kind. I’d highly recommend Live Love Paddle to anyone visiting or even locals looking for a fun night out on the water!
John was an amazing guide! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Answered many of my questions and more. I cannot recommend this bat tour enough! Saw so many bats and the combination with the skyline, a gorgeous experience.
Signed up for the bat tour and it did not disappoint!! John was a great guide and very approachable and friendly! Great storytelling throughout the tour with fun facts! I’d highly recommend this if you want to be in awe of the 1.5 million bats that Austin’s known for! A good 3 hours out and back. Be aware that there are large amounts of moss/seaweed/plantlife that can get stuck on your paddle but it is easy to remove if you dunk in the paddle and back out.
Booked the Austin Bat watching Tour with my friend and we had an AMAZING TIME. As someone who never kayaked before Joseph the tour guide was really easy going and helpful to learn from. Loved how Joseph provided a relaxed atmosphere that gave our group room to learn and experiment with our kayaks while also giving stops with cool bat facts and Austin history. Also if you’re visiting Austin and want to see the bats this route is the way to go. You not only get to see the bats from a unique location below the bridge but you also have beautiful sunset water views and an unforgettable Austin Skyline during the journey there and back, which I find the trip to be worth it.
Our trip was even better than I imagined it would be. Our guide, John, was super knowledgable and helpful. The entire set up with being able to walk to the dock and the length of paddle to the bridge and back were perfection!
Shout out to John, our sunset bat tour guide. We had an amazing time. The kayaks were comfortable, the equipment was in great condition. John provided lots of information about the city and Austin's progression, the bats, local wildlife, and more. He was funny, engaging, and, unlike other tours I've been on, was a bit more relaxed and provided some exploration freedom, rather than having to stay the whole time as a tight group. Seeing the bats come out from the water was extraordinary. Be sure to ask for John when you go. It's a MUST do in Austin.
We had a great time on the Bat Tour. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable. It's a laid back paddle, easy for any age. Perfect for my kids. The dock is a little farther than the other tours going on. Would recommend this Tour..
Definitely a must do when you’re in Austin. We did the evening bat tour. We had a relaxing paddle down to the bridge. Our guide was informative about the local wildlife. Then we hung out at the bat viewing site until the bats flew. It’s an amazing sight. Then after dark we paddled back to the dock. The night skyline and lights made it a nice trip back to the dock.

What a unique and incredible experience! Our tour guide, David, was fantastic. So informative, easy to talk to and kind. The bats were incredible - while you can’t always predict their flight pattern or the time they come out, seeing them and hearing them was wild. No better way to see the Austin city skyline and the bats than on the water!
