This “old Venice” is new to West Street at West Tenth Street and comes complete with a fireplace and sunsets over New Jersey. It’s owned and hosted by seasoned professionals Alex Selimaj and Gianni Goci. With an ebullient waitstaff, they lay on door-to-door warmth and make dining special with table side finishing of many dishes.
The surprising thing about Antica Venezia is how tranquil it is. Even though it’s situated in NYC’s super trendy Meatpacking District and has such high-powered neighbors as Nicole Kidman, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Leonardo DiCaprio and Hugh Jackman, the hotspot has the elegant appearance of a classic restaurant in Venice.
